Dr Konstantinos Topouzelis is Associate Professor at the Department of Oceanography and Marine Biosciences and leads the Marine Remote Sensing Group.
He holds an MSc in Remote Sensing (University of Dundee) and a PhD in Oil Pollution Detection from Satellite Data (National Technical University of Athens, School of Surveying and Geodesy).
His main research interest is the analysis of remote sensing data, including satellite imagery and aerial photographs, in the marine and coastal environment. He has extensive experience in the detection of oceanographic phenomena in satellite data, object-oriented image analysis, image processing algorithms and coastal mapping with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
